Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Reddy mobile application and related websites (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
The Service is operated from British Columbia, Canada.

1. The marketplace, and what we are not
Reddy is a marketplace. We connect skilled-trades professionals in British Columbia ("Pros") with people who want to hire them ("Clients"). Pros and Clients contract with each other directly.
Reddy is not your employer, not your contractor, not your agent, and not a party to any agreement you reach with another user. We don't supervise work, set rates, guarantee any outcome, collect payment for jobs, or hold money in trust. You're a self-directed user of the platform — not our employee.
We do not provide construction, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or any other trades services ourselves. We don't endorse any specific Pro.
2. Who can use Reddy
To use the Service you must:
- Be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence (19 in British Columbia, 19 in most of Canada);
- Be legally able to enter into a binding contract;
- Not be barred from using the Service under applicable law; and
- Provide accurate, current information when you create an account.
If you're using Reddy on behalf of a company, you represent that you're authorized to bind that company to these Terms.
3. Your account
You sign in with a phone number we verify by SMS one-time-passcode. Keep your phone secure. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
You agree to:
- Provide truthful information in your profile, postings, and messages;
- Not impersonate anyone else;
- Not share or sell access to your account;
- Tell us promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised — email Reddybcinfo@gmail.com.
4. Pro-specific terms (verification, trade claims)
If you create a Pro profile you additionally agree that:
- The trade, certification status, and (if applicable) certificate number you provide are accurate and currently valid;
- We may submit your legal name and certificate number to the public SkilledTradesBC registry to verify your Red Seal credential, with the result stored on our system;
- If your certification expires, is suspended, or is revoked, you'll update your profile or remove yourself from the Service;
- Self-declared Journeyperson status (10+ years on the tools without a Red Seal) is your own representation and can be questioned by Clients and by Reddy.
False or misleading credential claims are grounds for immediate account termination and may also be reportable to SkilledTradesBC or applicable trade authorities.
5. Client-specific terms
If you post a job or gig you agree that:
- You have the legal right to commission the work described (e.g. you own the property, or you have the owner's permission);
- You'll pay the agreed amount, on the agreed schedule, for work that meets the agreed scope;
- You'll behave safely on a Pro's worksite, and reasonably accommodate WorkSafeBC and applicable safety requirements when a Pro is on yours;
- You won't use Reddy to recruit workers in ways that would require an employment licence or contractor licence you don't hold.
6. Things you can't do on the Service
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, or to discriminate against another user on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected ground under the BC Human Rights Code;
- Harass, threaten, defame, or stalk other users;
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings (including ghost jobs, fake reviews, or "test the market" pricing you don't intend to honor);
- Post nudity, hateful content, or anything else prohibited by Google Play's content policies;
- Try to circumvent any verification, geo, or other safety check we apply;
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically extract data from the Service except as permitted by us in writing;
- Reverse-engineer the app or break the security of our backend;
- Impersonate Reddy or its staff.
7. Payments between users — off-platform
For v1.0 of the Service, payment for jobs and gigs happens directly between Client and Pro, outside of Reddy. You and the other party are responsible for agreeing on price, schedule, payment method (e-transfer, cheque, cash, invoice, etc.), receipts, GST/PST, T4A or T5018 reporting where applicable, and any contractor's lien rights. Reddy doesn't process, hold, or facilitate these payments.
If we add an in-platform payments feature in the future, we'll update these Terms first.
8. In-app purchases (Remove ads)
Reddy is free to use. We display banner advertising in the app. You can remove ads by purchasing the "Remove ads" in-app purchase, which is a one-time, lifetime purchase for the account that bought it. Pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase.
All in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. Refunds are handled per Google Play's refund policy — start at play.google.com/store/account. We don't process refunds directly.
If a purchase is refunded, charged back, or otherwise reversed, we may remove the no-ads benefit from your account.
9. Advertising
We work with Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob may collect and use limited information about your device (advertising ID, approximate location, app usage signals) to choose which ads to show you. You can manage personalized advertising through your device's Reset advertising ID and Opt out of Ads Personalization settings on Android, or through Google's controls at adssettings.google.com. Removing ads via our IAP also stops in-app banner display.

10. Reviews
Reviews on Reddy are user opinion, not statements of fact by us. We don't edit reviews, but we may remove reviews that:
- Contain personal attacks, threats, slurs, or sexual content;
- Contain personal information about a third party;
- Are demonstrably fake (e.g. someone reviewing a job they didn't book);
- Are part of a coordinated reputation attack.
Disagreeing with a review is not grounds for removal. If you believe a review crosses one of the lines above, email Reddybcinfo@gmail.com with the conversation or posting ID.
11. Content you post — license to us
You keep ownership of everything you post on Reddy (postings, messages, profile bios, photos, reviews — collectively, "User Content"). By posting it you grant Reddy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to host, store, display, and reproduce that content for the limited purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service.
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
If you delete your account, we anonymize your profile to "Deleted user" but messages you sent and reviews you wrote remain visible to the other participant in the conversation. See the Privacy Policy section 9 for details.
12. Intellectual property
The Service itself — the app code, the Reddy name and logo, the website design, our backend, and any documentation we publish — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You don't get any rights to that material beyond the limited right to use the Service as described in these Terms.
13. Service is provided "as is"
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing or trade usage.
We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We don't warrant any particular Pro's work, any Client's honesty, or any outcome of any job booked through the Service.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Reddy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, personal injury, or property damage — arising from your use of the Service, even if we've been advised of the possibility.
- Reddy's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) CAD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability; in those places these limits apply to the maximum extent permitted.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Reddy, its directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable lawyer's fees) arising out of:
- your User Content;
- your use of the Service;
- your interactions or contracts with other users;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your violation of any law or third-party right.
16. Termination
You can stop using Reddy at any time by deleting your account (see Privacy Policy section 9).
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms;
- We reasonably believe your continued use risks harm to the Service or to other users;
- We're required to do so by law; or
- You're inactive for an extended period.
Sections that by their nature should survive (payments owed, IP rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, dispute resolution) survive termination.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Service before the effective date.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in BC, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
19. Disputes
We'd rather solve problems by talking. Before filing any formal claim, email Reddybcinfo@gmail.com with the details. We'll try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.
If we can't, you agree that any dispute will be brought in the courts of British Columbia, Vancouver Registry, and you submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section prevents either of us from seeking equitable relief (e.g. an injunction) in any court of competent jurisdiction.
20. Class action waiver
To the extent permitted by law, you and Reddy each waive the right to bring or participate in a class, collective, or representative action against the other. Claims must be brought in your individual capacity.
21. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Reddy regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreement.
